Background :

The terms compliance, anti-corruption and anti-bribery policies and procedures have recently become trendier. Businesses in general and multinational corporations in particular are becoming more concerned about these issues, and have as a goal to meet the legal compliance obligations in order to reduce corruption risks. Every company is different and each company has its own unique corporate culture. The most important element in developing a “culture of compliance” is leadership that is strongly committed to doing business in an honest, ethical and legally compliant manner. It is important for company to develop a “culture of compliance,” regardless of its size, industry or location and it is depending on the commitment of its leadership and the willingness to devote the sustained effort and resources over time to doing business only in a lawful and ethical manner.

Neville K. Gandhi, is responsible for the Compliance function for operations in South Asia. He Has completed a total of 24 years in Siemens, of which 10 years in Compliance. Other stints included in the functions of Internal Audit: Responsible for Operational and Process audits as well as fraud detection and investigations & Accounts: All India Head of Accounts Receivables. Work requirements also necessitate interacting with external stakeholders in propagating Siemens way of conducting ‘clean business’ through ‘Collective Actions’.
